The Masters Builders
As with the other gems in the Hillbrooke Hotels collection, The Master Builder’s does rooms, restaurant and bar. Come for a relaxing short break of quirky but affordable luxury or maybe just a quick pint and bar snack.
With beautiful views over the Beaulieu River and set at the end of the grassy street that is Buckler’s Hard village, it is difficult to imagine a more picturesque setting for a hotel on the whole south coast of England. What’s more, The Master Builder’s is located on Lord Montagu's Beaulieu Estate in the New Forest National Park and just a few minutes drive from Beaulieu Palace House and the National Motor Museum. Many fine old naval ships were built at Buckler’s Hard. In fact you can still see the old grassy ‘slips’ just below the hotel. We think it appropriate to celebrate the work of Mr Henry Adams (the shipbuilder and former resident of the hotel building) by naming our rooms after some of his work.We do very nice rooms in the main house, beautifully and individually created by the well-known interior designer Christine Boswell, and we do nice rooms in the Henry Adams wing (which cost less). We are also dog-friendly and have at least one room available for those who want to bring their pet with them.So we start with a ship’s name, let our imagination go a little bit crazy, take this mix to Rajasthan where our craftsmen turn the concept into wonderfully theatrical, comfortable and beautifully bespoke furnishings, and this is what we get for very nice:PandoraAgamemnonSwiftsureAbundanceHusar (for Hillbrooke cognoscenti, please read Flashman)VictoriousFervent (for Hillbrooke wistful, please read Karma Sutra)RomulusPacific
