Don't be surpirsed to know there is a Castle at St Mawes and it's one of the more popular tourist attractions. Like most castles it's owned and operated by the English Heritage. If a pub or traditional inn isn't grand enough for a wedding venue the castle is available to hire for weddings.
St Mawes still has an active fishing community made up of trawlers and crabbing boats and much of the catches end up on the tables of the local restaurants, pubs and hotels.
Falmouth is a short ferry ride away from St Mawes and is well worth the ferry crossing.
If you like fish be sure to visit St Mawes during the Fish Festival. It is an annual event organised by local fishermen and business's.
